Al-Ihsan Academy is
committed to offering a high academic program
that includes the Michigan core curriculum in
addition to Islamic studies , Quran , and a
rigorous Arabic language program . The staff is
an exceptional group of professional Muslim
educators committed to helping each individual
child reach his/her academic potential , develop
a mature Islamic personality , and attain a
healthy lifestyle .
Students begin each day in
assembly where they are taught Quran , the
morning duaa's and hadith , Students congregate
daily for the Dhur prayer and weekly for the
Jumaa prayer . Twelve noble characteristics of
the Prophet (SAW) are taught and their
application is reinforced through the compliment
box as students "catch" a fellow classmate
exhibiting a characteristic and write an
anonymous compliment card for that action.
This activity is one
example of our effort to build a strong moral
foundation in our youth .
Al-Ihsan Academy was
founded by the Board of Trustees of the
Islamic Center of Detroit
in the summer of 2005 and established as a
non-profit, full-time Islamic School. The
school currently serves students from pre-school
through grade eight, and has plans, Inshallah,
to grow and expand to eventually serve students
to grade twelve.
We are located inside of
the
Islamic Center of Detroit.
In addition to twelve classrooms, we currently
have offices, a cafeteria/gymnasium, an assembly
hall, a computer/media center, an outdoor
playground, a Women’s Prayer Hall, a Men’s
Prayer Hall, and a latchkey room. We have plans
to add a fully equipped gymnasium, as well as,
additional classrooms in the future.
Al-Ihsan Academy is
dedicated to pursuing academic excellence and
promotion of a strong Islamic identity
through the internalization of the teachings of
our Noble Prophet and the application of
Islamic principles in daily life.
